Reminder: Planning for Next Year and CSCP expectations
Please remember that your updated annual calendar is due by October next year. The CSCP level agreements should be integrated into this calendar, particularly the core/Tier 1 curriculum agreements by grade level. Please collaborate with your team to develop the best course plan for your school site to ensure that all students receive the core school counseling program.
Tier 1 Curriculum Reminders:
- Health Suicide Prevention Lessons: These lessons for grades 6-12 are to be delivered by classroom teachers in alignment with our districts Adi’s Act. While we can provide support and follow up for students, the responsibility for delivering the Health standards does not fall on us. Health teachers have been working closely with public health specialists to ensure the equitable delivery of all health standards in middle and high school.
- Wayfinder Program: This program is also delivered by classroom teachers. A new counselor dashboard will be released in August, along with the Tier 2 curriculum, which differs from the Tier 1 curriculum to allow counselor access to curriculum to use to supplement the Tier 1 Wayfinder curriculum.
For your reference, here are the documents that outlines our agreements:
Administrators are also aware of this expectation. Jennifer and Jess have been advocating for CSCP support in their PLC this year and will continue to do so before the new school year. If you encounter any difficulties working through this with your administrator, Jennifer is available to support you. Please reach out if needed!
High School Transcript Reminders
Here are some tips and reminders about setting up and tracking seniors in SchooLinks to ensure that they are set up to get their transcripts sent to the appropriate venues. Please read this thoroughly. There are some steps that need to be confirmed and completed by you (the counselor) before you leave on the 20th, so that once transcripts are updated and uploaded by Curriculum Secretaries, they can then do a bulk send for both Common App and In-Network Transcripts all at once.
- Enrollment Decision Double Check
- Students should be updating their enrollment decision in that Senior Year End Activity.
- You can see those decisions under College Track Results
- We hope that they do it but might be good to give them a reminder to double check that their SchooLinks does indeed have the correct destination for their transcript in Enrollment Decision.
- Final Report for Common Application by Counselor
- Like always, prior to leaving for summer you need to complete the Final Report for students that have chosen to attend a Common App school.
- You will be able to track this information in College Application Manager Enrollment Documents
- For all Common Application Schools, you will do the following:
Click on Final Report and answer the summary questions: Rank (this should already be marked none), GPA and Summary. You will NOT actually submit as our Final Transcripts are not updated yet. Simply fill out the questionnaire (it is quick) and it will save those answers for the student to be ready to send when transcripts are updated with final grades and graduation confirmation.
- For in-network institutions, we will be able to be sent without a final report once the Final Transcript is ready. No action from you on these.
- Bulk Send by Curriculum Secretaries/Registrars
- Here is a cheat sheet to support the following instructions
- Once the final transcripts are ready to go, our transcript folks will upload the final transcripts and they will be able to BULK SEND the enrollment documents all at once. If counselors do not complete the Final Reports in Common App, they will not be able to Bulk Send, so please make sure that is completed prior to your last day.
- If students do not choose an enrollment decision, their transcripts will not be sent. Please make sure your seniors are reminded of this!
- Students can request transcripts to go to other places such as NCAA, DPP program, scholarships, jobs, etc. through the “Records Requests” in SchooLinks. Right now, we have it set to not send automatically so that we can postpone until final transcripts are updated. Once the final transcripts are updated, our curriculum secretaries be able to process those requests. After grades posted and final transcripts are uploaded in SchooLinks, we will turn back on the automatic send feature.
The transcript page on BLS website has also been updated.
Have a great last week of school next week!
