Use of Time: April 3-7 (FIRST WEEK WE COME BACK!)
We will be doing a K-12 Use of Time Analysis April 3-7 and April 17-21. I sent out a calendar invite as well, please let me know if you didn’t get it!
Here is a link the Google Folder. In it you will find a folder for each school and “Use of Time Sheets” for each counselor at that school. There is one for April 3-7 and another for April 17-21.
The Use of Time Calculators are really easy to use, just put an X in the correct box for how you spent your time during that 15 minute period for each day.
Here is a link to the agreements for our agreed activities for how to input and where.
Mental Health Week Resources
When we get back from Spring Break, it is already April. That means that we are getting close to May: Mental Health Awareness Month. MVHS just finished up a Wellness Week and CHS does a Wellness Week, Expo and Fair. Definitely connect with them on more information for their programming ideas should you want to explore hosting anything at your school site for Mental Health Awareness Month. Think about different clubs or people on campus that might be able to support you in this endeavor!
If you are looking for additional ideas, California School Counselor Association has Mental Health Week Toolkits for each level. There are sample lessons, programming, promos, etc. I know it is California based, but it has some really great stuff for anybody to use/borrow!
The county is hosting a Hope, Health and Heal event in May as well. We should definitely be promoting this event as well.

Concussion Professional Learning
From Joe Devine:
I am emailing you information on the upcoming concussion conference that we are putting on with The Center. It’s free for educators. It is on the morning of April 14th. Attached is the information. Please share the info to the counseling staff. There is limited seating.

PLC Reminders: Data Results Reports in May
Educator Network Day on April 19 from 2:45-4:00 pm at Caldera High School
ES PLC: April 5th and May 10th from 1:45-3:15 pm at Ed Center (Room 312)
MS PLC: May 12th from 8:00-9:30 am at Wall St Lab (Ed Center)
HS PLC: May 4th from 8:00-9:30 am at Bend Senior High School
During our time together in April we will go over Data in School Counseling and learn about the Results Reports that each school will be compiling for their level PLC in May.
Reminder: School counselors have each identified a SMARTE goal and focused on collecting data on our use of time and student connections/conferences in Synergy. To culminate our year, we want counselors to spend time reviewing and sharing their school counseling data to drive program planning for next year.
SEL Survey from ODE
The Oregon K-12 SEL Survey was disseminated this week and your feedback is incredibly valuable. Please take the survey, share and encourage your colleagues to respond too.
