Transitioning to a BLS School from various placements

As we work toward prioritizing our communication and focusing our efforts on building/maintaining relationships with our students & families experiencing unique circumstances, please see the BLS Transitions document. Many of these transitions (historically) have left us searching for information and scrambling to make plans for students on short notice. Eric Powell and his team are hoping that this document can evolve into a sort of ‘guide’ for when we have students transitioning back into our schools (from various placements).

Student Medical Leaves

Occasionally a student will experience a significant medical situation that requires an extended absence.  While our attendance policy addresses basic options for this, we have developed additional guidance to support teams in navigating these infrequent situations.  Here is the current draft of this guidance.  We are sharing this now for your awareness.

Care Solace Update

From Jennifer:

I wanted to make sure our teams have this information. It appears that about 40-ish% of CareSolace referrals for the 12-17 age group have no response from parents. When making a warm hand-off, it is good to let families know the phone number/email so it does not get blocked, go to spam, etc. There are lots of reasons why families do not follow through but this one more piece of information we can give families that could be helpful.

Here is the phone number and email that Care Solace will use to reach out to families when a warm hand-off has been intiated:
