All Counselors/Parents: Kids Inc

Please let staff members know that they can indicate their interest in having their child attend KIDS Inc by filling out the KIDS Inc Interest Form specific to BLP employees for the 2024-2025 school year. As a reminder, they also MUST submit an application to the program (not available until the window opens) that can be found on the KIDS Inc website in order to be considered. Indicating interest does not guarantee a spot in the program but BLP employees will be prioritized. The application period is May 6- May 17.

SchooLinks Onboarding:
HS and MS:
Just a gentle reminder we should be actively ensuring all students are onboarded to SchooLinks. Moving forward, SchooLinks integration is outlined in our HS Comprehensive School Counseling Program (CSCP) Agreements and MS School Counseling Program Agreements, meaning all students are expected to utilize it as part of the CSCP. Remember that you all of access to review and track any SchooLinks analytics for your school to see where you are all at in the process.
HS:
As we approach the end of the academic year, we want to make sure that all seniors have completed some critical tasks in SchooLinks prior to graduation in June. We discussed this back in January as we prepared for Early Grads and now it is time to focus on the larger senior class. We have also communicated with the HS admin and emphasized that two essential items should be incorporated into the Senior Check-Out process. We are sending a friendly reminder to support student completion of the following items:
1. Alumni Feature in SchooLinks:
Before graduating in June, seniors are required to complete the alumni feature in SchooLinks. Once graduated, their SchooLinks account will transition to an Alumni status. To facilitate this transition seamlessly, seniors must update their personal email and password in SchooLinks. This step is crucial as it ensures continued access to SchooLinks for tasks such as requesting high school transcripts and utilizing its features post-graduation.
2. Senior Year End Activity:
Additionally, we urge all seniors to complete the Senior Year End Activity in SchooLinks, which encompasses the following updates:
- Post-Secondary Plan
- College Applications (if applicable)
- Enrollment Decision (this determines where their transcript will be sent!)
- Scholarships (if applicable)
- BLS Student Senior Survey
As we start closely monitoring post-secondary preparation and outcomes, this task is crucial for gathering district wide data to use for future planning support for our current students.
Below are two resources to aid seniors in completing these tasks. We encourage collaboration within your respective admin/counseling teams to strategize the most effective means of getting this information out to seniors as well as providing support for students to complete the tasks. Some suggested avenues include advisory sessions, class meetings, classroom lessons, etc.
