What do I do if I complete all the Really Great Reading lessons before the end of the year?

A sneak peek at what is coming NEW to RGR next year!

Supporting English Learners

Make self-reflection a part of every day, it’s a great way to build self-efficacy for learning, and is valuable for all of your students.  Try starting with these three questions, and ask them every day:

  • What’s working for you? – This will help the student recognize their assets, and also give you information on what you should keep doing to
  • What’s not working for you? – This will help the student identify where their struggles are, if they don’t know what’s not working, it will be hard for them to address it.  It will also give you as the teacher more insight into what supports you can provide.
  • What will you do next? – This is the most important question of all…you may need to suggest courses of action so they have some ideas of how to get unstuck.
