Digital Tools for 2023-2024 School Year
The following digital resources will be available next school year:
- DreamBox – All K-5 (at least 2 lessons a week required)
- Lexia – All K-5 (essential for students below benchmark)
- Really Great Reading Teaching Online Tool and Reading Playgrounds – All K-5 (Games 1-3)
- Seesaw – All K-5
- Google Classroom – 3rd-5th
- Discovery Education – All K-5
Literacy Happenings
There are still a few spots available for LETRS training!
- Comprehensive literacy professional development LETRS … You’ve heard about it through the news, podcasts … and now you can find out what all the hype is about! A LETRS Cohort will be starting next school year and continue through the 2024-2025 school year. Lots of information here and how to sign up.
What should I do with WONDERS and other literacy curriculums?
- Really Great Reading is our adopted curriculum for foundational skills
- 3rd – 5th will be teaching HD Word PLUS next year
- Coaches will be bringing those materials to your building before the end of year
- Keep HD Word materials in the building for future use
- 3rd – 5th will be teaching HD Word PLUS next year
- Wonders is our adopted curriculum for language comprehension
- We have developed up to three scopes and sequences for each grade level
- Scope and sequences will include options for using Wonders, Newsela, Amplify, etc.
- These will be introduced on August 30th at the District Professional Learning Day
- There is no disposal plan for 23-24 school year – that will come the following year when we adopt new language comp materials
- If there are materials you are not using (mainly anthologies, shared read texts, leveled readers, TEs) please box them up and store them somewhere in the building.
- Let your instructional coach and your administration know what you have and where it is located in the building in case your building adds additional classes or they are needed at another school
- Again – unused materials need to stay in buildings as there is no district storage space available
- We have developed up to three scopes and sequences for each grade level
