In anticipation of the March 12th masking guideline changes, the ICCL Team is working on resources for you to share with students to help them build empathy and understanding of the different choices/situations they will likely observe at Lava Ridge. These can be shared with students on Friday, March 11th or Monday, March 14th (or both!)  We will have these to you mid-week.

Next week, the family communication, we send to our community will include information about our goal to build empathy and understanding at Lava with the changing mask guidelines.

Here are the new Ready Schools, Safe Learners Resiliency Framework (RSSL) guidelines. The changes are in green.

A shout-out to Miriam for her time communicating with community partners to secure assistance for the families in the Juniper Hilltop Mobile Estates. Several groups including FAN are now involved and there was even a story last night on KTVZ detailing the water issues and how it is impacting the people who live there. Here is a link to the KTVZ story.

Nice job with your work on our family communication goal. We are off to a great start making sure every family receives at least, twice-monthly communication, about what their child is learning in math, reading, and writing and details about other happenings in class.

A reminder that we will not have Lava Read next week and on January 24, 25. DIBELS (1/21) will again be in Discovery Falls.

On Wednesday from 1:45-3:15, Sara Swedlund will be leading a training on Lexia. With all of us working with students to meet their units gained weekly goal, the ICCL Team felt a support session on Lexia, including how to use the new lesson slide decks would be helpful.

We are planning to have a fire drill next week.

From the December Quick Xheck-in

Student Attendance Code Change: The Bend La Pine Schools will now be using the code PVQ instead of C19. This is to prevent student drops especially around the end of the semester (February 3rd)
