ACR’s- ACR’s for first through fifth grade were due March 1. In order to complete staffing allocations, Brad needs all of the ACR’s in Synergy. Please bring your ACR’s to Monday’s leadership team meeting and we’ll meet right after to sign and trade so that you can have your office staff make the changes in Synergy. Receiving schools can not complete the process until releasing schools have released a student. Brad needs this completed by March 17, so releasing schools should have it completed by the 10th so receiving schools have time to complete by the 17th.
Transfer Interviews- We will once again have an afternoon for elementary transfer interviews as we have done the past several years. Last year the job fair was on April 11 and we held transfer interviews on Thursday, April 7. This year the job fair is Monday, April 10. I am asking that you tell me by next Friday if you want to have the transfer interviews on Thursday, April 6 or April 13. We’ll go with majority. Once we have a date, Jon in HR will send out info to all certified staff.
RTI for SLD Identification Training (save the date)- I shared last week that our EBISS work over the past several years has laid the foundation for using RTI to identify students with a specific learning disability and that we would be sharing a timeline and training plan soon. Our first team training will take place on Friday, April 7 in the boardroom. Principals should plan on attending the morning portion, 8 a.m. to noon. Pysch.’s, ERC teachers and building interventionists will attend all day. Principals are also welcome to attend all day if you choose. RTI grant funds will cover sub costs. Be on the lookout for more information re: the training.
Mini Observations- Just a reminder to be sure to keep up on mini observations. According to contract, you are to have four completed (for each teacher, not total) by spring break. It is also a good idea to be sure teachers have no doubt each time that you complete one by telling them. Some teachers are unclear what does or does not constitute a mini observation. Please ask if you have any questions about this.
Conference Interpreters- Requests for conference interpreters need to be emailed to Jody McBride no later than Friday, March 24 @ noon. Requests should be made only via email. Jody will then submit to the ESD, which needs requests no later than two weeks prior to conferences. Please be sure that your ELL teacher receives this information. Thank you.
Kinder Packets- Early the week of March 13, JoAnne will be sending your office managers/secretaries PDF’s of kindergarten handbook, Steps to Reading and a few other kinder registration materials. You can printshop what you need. Call if you have questions.
Request from Alandra- This year we are hoping to feature students in our schools who are changing the world or to have goals in the future to change the world. Do you know a student who fits this description? The students will be featured in a districtwide video as well as our annual district calendar. Please send back the name of the student you have in mind and a sentence about how you think this student is planning to change the world. Several schools have already submitted students, but we need a few more.
Thanks everyone!
EBISS Math Training- Reminder that there will be an EBISS math training Monday from 4:00-6:00 at Pine Ridge. This training is for school teams to become more familiar with Forefront and how to talk about your data at EBISS meetings. Sign up on PD Place.
Horizontal Meeting- There will be no horizontal meeting in March. We will have a meeting on April 18 as we have a couple of things that need to be covered. I realize this is a Tuesday, but Mondays seem to be filled or unavailable for some who must be there. Site TBD.
I am sure many of you have seen this, but it’s a feel good story of a teacher who is doing what he can to connect with his students and make sure they all feel special.

Thanks for all you do every day to connect with your students. Have a great weekend.
