March 10

ACR’s- Please be sure ACR’s are entered into Synergy no later than next Friday, March 17 so that Brad has accurate numbers to finalize staffing allocations.

Attendance-  Here is an interesting article and simple idea that could help improve attendance.

Field Trips- Please remember to remind your teachers that they need to request nurses for field trips at least two weeks in advance. If they don’t give at least two weeks notice, they may not be able to secure a nurse for the field trip.

Conferences- Please let me know whether or not your school has historically conducted conferences on Wed. and Thurs. evenings in exchange for Friday off. I’m assuming that most have done this, but just need to get a firmer grasp on what each school has done. Thank you.

Transfer Interviews- Your feedback didn’t help me at all as it was split right down the middle. So, I’ll say Thursday, April 13 . Jon will send out a letter with directions to all elementary staff. I will find a site and let everyone know more directions soon. It would be great to have a rep from every building (principal or VP) that anticipates a potential opening.

New Business Manager- You may have heard it announced already, but I wanted to mention we have hired a new Business Manager for the district as Zhai Logan will be heading off to retirement.  His name is Roy Burling and he comes to us with a long and successful history of doing similar work with schools.  Please welcome Roy when you cross paths with him.  Roy is  Currently working with our insurance carrier and many others to assess and process claims around “snowmageddon” and will be taking on Zhai’s role after May 15 when she officially retires.

For Alandra- Please read the following from Alandra and send her potential names of your students that fit this description:

This year we are hoping to feature students in our schools who are changing the world or to have goals in the future to change the world. Do you know a student who fits this description? The students will be featured in a districtwide video as well as our annual district calendar.  Please send back the name of the student you have in mind and a sentence about how you think this student is planning to change the world.  Several schools have already submitted students, but we need a few more.
