Important Notes:

Case Managers- In order to leave on the last day of work, all of your IEP paperwork will need to be completed and finalized. You will not be check-out from your buildings until that is done!

In this recent Education Week article (May 14, 2019), best-selling author Daniel Pink shares four ideas on “How Schools can Spend Time more Wisely.” I thought it worth sharing with you and encourage you to think about how/if they might fit into your classrooms/programs.

Planning for August: It’s hard to believe we are looking to our return in the fall! Here is the work calendar and expectations for the weeks of Aug 26-Sept 6. Please join the 2nd Annual Innovation Conference. Be sure to REGISTER your building admin team and ICCL members in PERFORMANCE MATTERS for August 20 before leaving for the summer. *sign in to Performance Matters, click “My Courses”, search for “Innovative”, then register for the days you plan to attend.

Article of the Week:
The Importance of Celebrating

Important Notes:
Skate Day: Hours 9-11:30
Staff are encouraged to dress in their favorite SPORTS Gear!

Wednesday Events BEND:

Middle and High school staff: As soon as students are released, pick an action you want to do. 1) Make your sign for the march. 2) Go to your nearest major street and hold your signs high. 3) Go to a nearby elementary school and hand out flyers to parents as they pick up their students. 4) Contact our local Senator and ask him to support appropriately funded education.  Doesn’t matter what you do, just do something!!!
Elementary staff: As soon as students are released, make your way to one of the march starting points.
2:30- All staff gather at one of the march starting points. They are at Bend High, Highland Elementary and the northwest parking lot in the Old Mill District. Please carpool as parking may be tight. We will be marching in from these points to the district office.

3:15- Speakers begin at the district office
3:45- March begins through downtown Bend
4:30- Event concludes

LA PINE:

Three Rivers– You are welcome to join either event.

2:45- Staff will march down HWY 97 to the Chamber of Commerce
3:45- Speakers begin
4:30- Event concludes
Staff with work locations outside of school are encouraged to participate in any, or all, of the events taking place prior to catching up at the central march locations in Bend and La Pine.
