Where are you with student academic assessments? I have only heard back from one teacher on progress. Assessments were set for last week, please let me know you anticipated date of completion!

DATA COLLECTION Starts This Week!

Sick Leave Season- Please follow the following protocol when you are going to be out sick:
1. Enter your leave into ASEOP
2. Text Hayley (That way I know to watch for sub coverage in ASEOP and plan around the day for Ed. Center and Sites).
3. Send sub plans to Hayley for now (will be both Hayley and new secretary).
4. Think about having back- up plans in your rooms and shared with Hayley- Just in Case!

Base Camp Art: We are in process of getting Base Camp scheduled for all of the programs. As soon as it is set, we will be in touch with times of programming!

Cleaning Supplies: The district is asking that we use cleaning supplies provided by our custodial staff. Please review this flyer for additional information. If you need cleaning supplies we need to reach out to our building custodian.

SRES & LPES Please send me your student and staff schedules!

Personal Leave: All personal leaves need to be approved by Hayley. Certified staff- please use the district from.
Classified staff- please send request via email.

Suicide Prevention Week this year is Sept. 7 – 14 and there are a number of activities happening locally (including at some of our schools) that you might want to be aware of and/or share with students (as appropriate) and the larger community. Activities & Info

Please enroll in insurance benefits! Open enrollment ends September 15^th and currently there are 1,130 employees who have not yet elected their benefits for the 2019-2020 school year. Please encourage your staff to complete enrollment at their earliest convenience so that any technical difficulties or questions can be addressed ahead of the enrollment deadline. Tamarack Office Update: Lori resigned her position last Friday. While I pondered including this information in the Blog, I wanted to make sure you all knew as soon as possible due to any business you may have with her currently. If you have emails, requests- shopping, subs, ect., we will need to work together to remedy these outstanding business items to ensure you have what you need. We will have a sub temporarily. I will let you know additional information as I know it. (Tam @ Ed. Center- Lori will be in Monday afternoon at 2:00pm to say any goodbyes to students as appropriate).

To Review as we welcome students this week:
Do you have a greeting and departure ritual? Do they align with our core principle?

Class lists- Are published and should reflect students in the program. Please let me know if you see any errors!

Data Collection- As a reminder we collect student data daily and with a standard program rubric. If you are new to this, don’t worry, we will get you trained! Stay Tuned! STAFF DATA COLLECTION WILL START THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 30TH! This will allow for the use of the Teacher Work Day Wednesday (9.25.19) to be used to set up student data sheets!

Student Academic Assessments- Please use the week of September 23rd-27th to collect students current functioning in their academic areas. This will give everyone time to get to know your students, play and have fun, paired with “academic” tasks that are based in routine, the SAFE, etc. SPEND THE FIRST TWO WEEKS PLAYING WITH STUDENTS, BUILDING CULTURE WITH THE COMMUNITY, AND HAVING FUN!

Unsung Hero For all the great work Tam staff does- it is easy to get lost in the negative of working with our community… this video is a good reminder of how it only takes one person “believing in good” to touch the lives of many in positive ways. Thank you for all you do!

Important Notes:
Tam @ Ed. Center- Here is a short PowerPoint presentation on the First Step app on student and staff iPads. It was created with the goal of staff being able to present it to students in a class (or whole-school during 1st period) as a reminder that it is there, how it works, and what types of tips should be reported.

If you ask the students, “What are you supposed to be doing/working on right now?” Can they answer? Do they know? (If not, work is needed on the routine!)

Academic Assessments: Please complete students academic assessments this week, if you have not already done so. (Once complete, please email me that it is completed!)

Coaches Out for CPI This Week:
Jen and Lorna will be out Tuesday and Wednesday. Amanda and Darlene will be out Tuesday-Friday.

Wednesday is a Tamarack Work Day:
Tasks-
Educational Assistants: please work with your teacher to help prep/prepare materials for the coming days/weeks.

Case Managers: please set up data. How we rung the data reports (What they look like) need to be set up by Friday 9.27.19. Rick is the master of the data reports. Please reach out to him so that you can get the reports organized the way they need to be.
