Flip a Coin

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Integrated Portland 2019 conference which I highly recommend. I had so many great takeaways that I’m hoping to share with you. The first one is just a simple tool called Flip a Coin. All you have to do is Google “flip coin” and the tool will come up. This tool was used in various sessions. For example, one presenter had a book to give away. She had everyone stand up and choose heads or tails. If you chose heads, you put your hands on your head. If you chose tails, you put your hands on your hips. She would then flip the coin. If it was “heads” then everyone who chose “tails” had to sit down. She continued flipping the coin until she had 1 winner. It was fun, quick & easy. I’m sure you can think of ways to use this tool in your classrooms.

This isn’t the only tool that Google has. Try Googling these:

  • Timer
  • Stopwatch
  • Calculator
  • Color Picker
  • Spinner
  • Roll a die
  • Metronome
