Senior Tip – Taking Your Files With You

For Seniors, once they graduate, they will no longer be able to access their Bend-La Pine student accounts. If they want to keep any files, here’s how they can do that:

Option 1 – Google Drive Method

This method requires a personal Google account. It also works best if you perform the steps below holding your iPad in landscape mode.

  1. In Files, on your iPad, create a folder called “Keep” or whatever you’d like to call it.
  1. In photos, select the photos you want to save and then share them to “Files” in the “Keep folder” you created.
  1. In Files (in landscape mode), find anything in your district Google Drive that you want to keep and drag it into the “Keep folder” you created.
  1. In Files, find anything in your iCloud that you want to keep and drag it into the “Keep folder” you created. (Just like you did in step 3.)
  2. Close the Files app completely.
  3. Now go to Google Drive and sign in to your personal Google account.
  4. Open the Files app. Take the “Keep folder” and drag it into your personal Google account.

Option 2 – iCloud Method

This method requires a personal device. It also works best if you perform the steps below holding your iPad in landscape mode.

  1. On your iPad make sure you are signed in with your district iCloud account.
  2. In Files, create a folder called “Keep” or whatever you’d like to call it.
  1. In Files, find anything in your district Google Drive that you want to keep and drag it into the “Keep folder” you created.
  2. In Files, drag the “Keep folder” into your iCloud.
  3. On a personal device, go to iCoud.com
  4. Sign in with your district account using your student email and password.
  5. Download the “Keep folder” (and any other items in iCloud that you need) onto your personal device.
