RHS Update #3 9-7-23

“DISORIENTATION” at RHS – permission forms!

Every year we start off at RHS with a community building experience known as “Disorientation”! 

The purpose of these two days is to jump start the the process of building relationships, trust, teamwork and belonging… as these are the foundation for the academic achievement and personal growth we seek to help our students accomplish this year!


On Thursday all grades will bus to Tumalo State Park for a day of team building in Crews and grade based groups. On Friday, each grade level takes on their own specific grade level challenges/experiences… 9th and 11th off campus and 10th, 12th on campus.

Thursday September 8th: 

All RHS students will be bussing to Tumalo State Park. We will be traveling to TSP in school busses and departing after “Morning Crew” in two waves between 9:30AM and 10:00AM. We will be returning to campus around 2:00PM. Here is what to bring:

  • backpack, full water bottle(s), sunscreen, iPad
  • if you signed up for a sack lunch on your permission form, we will provide it. If not, bring a lunch!
  • comfortable shoes and clothing – we will be active!
  • It looks like the weather will be warm, but not scorching… 

Friday September 9th:

  • 9th graders: hiking @ Meadow Camp on Deschutes River (same “gear list” as Thursday)
  • 11th graders canoeing @ Elk Lake (feel free to bring a towel and a change of clothing!
  • 10th & 12th graders on campus tackling “design challenges”!
Because we are going off campus, we DO need ALL students to have a signed permission form READY FOR DAY 1!!

SCHOOL SAFETY UPDATES

iPAD UPDATES FOR 2022-23

Students will need their FULLY CHARGED iPads every day at school, starting on Day 1!

We STRONGLY recommend and encourage our families to purchase iPad insurance. $30 now can save you hundreds of dollars later if iPads get broken or damaged.

Students who are new to the District or for some other reason do not have an iPad will receive a new iPad at school during the first few days.

Student Schedules & Schedule Change Requests

Student schedules will be available in StudentVue/ParentVue on September 2nd (for all schools).

After schedules come out, if you have questions or concerns about your schedule, please use THIS FORM to let us know or request a change. 

We do not make schedule changes to move friends together, or to request a different teacher for the same class. Please do not call the office to request a schedule change; if you request follow-up on the form (linked above) we will reach out. Schedule changes can be made up until the 10th day of the trimester, and once the school year starts, our counselor and student success coordinator will be available for individual meetings with students (coordinated through that same google form).

Join Roger For Coffee on Friday This Week!

From Roger: I am so excited to welcome parents back on campus and I am hosting a short “Coffee & Chat” on Friday September 9th from 8:45 – 9:15 in our Loading Dock out front of the building. Come and meet other parents, here a bit about getting involved here at REalms and meet one or two of our Friends of Realms Board Members!
