RHS Update #4 9-16-22

We have had an awesome start to the school last week and are sinking into regular schedules this week at RHS.

As many of you know, we seek to bring rigorous academic to life through our classes AND our inclusive school culture. Often, we harness the power of EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION…. or learning by doing to strengthen academics AND build school culture!

These photos below are just a few of the many from Disorientation… our 3 day community and relationship building start of the year tradition!

Upcoming Dates

  • Friday Sept 23rd – Picture Day at RHS/RMS
  • Thursday September 29th – Back to School Open House (5:30pm – 7:00pm)
  • Mon Oct 17 – Thurs Oct 20 – Intensives at RHS
  • Friday Oct 21st – Midterm Progress Reports

Back to School Open House Moved to Thursday Sept 29th

Due to construction delays and or desire to make sure we have the MAXIMUM number of teachers present, we have made the decision to move our Back to School Open House one week back. It was originally scheduled for THIS Thursday (22nd) but we have shifted it to Sept 29th.

This is an event designed primarily for parents/guardians…. the workshops we will be offering are targeted to parents and we will be offering workshops that speak both to new parents, parents of juniors/seniors, and parents of 9th graders as well! PLEASE CONSIDER JOINING US!

Friends of Realms and the Fieldwork Contribution

You should have recently received an email from Friends of Realms letting you know about their fundraising efforts AND their FIELDWORK CONTRIBUTION program.

I wholeheartedly ask you to consider making any contribution you can to help support these experiences… they are often the ones that make the most lasting impact on our students.

You can learn more about it and make your contribution here.

Intensives Coming to RHS Soon!

Along the lines of fieldwork and experiential learning, we will be holding our 1st of two INTENSIVES WEEKS at RHS on October 17th – 20th… SOON!

In fact, students will be choosing their Intensive classes THIS WEEK…. and options include Rock Climbing, One Act Plays, Culinary, Mountain BIking, Paddling & Water Safety, Jam Band, Archery, Trail Conservation and more!!

We will be sharing more details soon… but in the meantime, know that these Intensives are just ANOTHER opportunity to experience “elective style classes”, venture out “into the field” and to work with professionals in our community.
