This and That:
Read-a-thon: Thank you for sending home the Read-a-thon packets last week. It’s hard to believe that March 1st is THIS WEEK already! Like last year, we will be having Dr. Seuss inspired spirt days throughout the read-a-thon. Here is a link to the days. Posters will go up around the school on Monday and I will email a parent communication this week as well. We will have Dr. Seuss hats available for purchase for $2 for students (free for staff who don’t already have one to wear on Friday)(while supplies last).
Winter SLGGs: With a snowy forecast and me fighting sickness, we will need to take SLGGs one day at a time. Monday’s SLGGs will be rescheduled. I will send information to those teachers for new date options soon. I will keep in touch with all of you about SLGGs as the week progresses.
Art Workshops: Thank you to everyone who pitched in to help increase our number of K/1 spots… we now have enough! Jenn will be sending out the student sign-ups this Wednesday.
PBIS: Thanks for participating in the kindness activities throughout the month! Please refer to the email Frank sent, for optional activities, to wrap up our character trait of kindness.
Art Inspiration: Have students draw or paint an abstract design that reflects an emotion or idea. Place a sheet of paper next to each piece of art, and have students walk around writing comments about what they think the artist was trying to express.
