Two cute Variels ready for Mustache Day!

This and That:

Read-a-thon: Thank you for participating in the Read-a-thon fun this past week! Just a reminder, although we will collect the money from the Read-a-thon whenever it is turned in, to be counted towards our prize goal, it must be turned in by this Friday, March 15th. The top 15 readers and top 15 earners will be helping to duck tape me to the wall if we meet the $6000 goal.

Recess Pass Reminders: As a follow-up to the staff meeting this week – a few reminders about recess passes:

  1. Students MUST have a pass to come inside
  2. One clip per student
  3. See office if you need more clips

Art Inspiration: Write an opinion piece, or have a class discussion on what the world would look like without art! What form of art would they miss the most?  For example, the animation in video games? 🙂

Art Workshops: Thank you for a smooth first round of art workshops! The students had so much enthusiasm after the first day!

PBIS: Take time for some self-care this week! It’s common for educators (as well as counselors and other support staff who work with students exposed to trauma) to be at risk of being indirectly traumatized as a result of hearing about their students’ experiences and witnessing the negative effects.

  • Take a few minutes to check in on your teaching partners this week
  • Prioritize the time to do one thing that you enjoy each day, while you’re at work
  • Actively take a few moments to search for humor, acts of kindness, and love that are occurring around you.

Gallup Poll Results: For those of you who would like to dig a little deeper, here is link to our Gallup Poll results.
