This and That:
10/2 SIW: Our SIW this week will be to dig into the DIBELS booklets and see how we can best support our students during core time based on an error analysis.
Dreambox Math K-2: Debbie Garrett worked with Scott McDonald this week to figure out how to best use DreamBox with K-2. I recommend chatting with Debbie and/or Scott in the next few weeks to see how to get it going with your students. Our staff agendas are PACKED for the next few months, so I doubt there will be a staff-wide training before December or January. However, between Scott, Debbie G., Debbi M., and Sara, you have lots of people who can at least get you and your kids started quite quickly in the short run.
Conferences: Our conference schedule this year will be 7:30-3:30 prep on Wednesday, 3:30-7:30 conferences on Wednesday, 7:30-7:30 conferences on Thursday, and Friday off. Below are a few additional items for you to know for scheduling:
- Siblings and families that need translators should be scheduled first. Melinda will be coordinating this over the next week or so. THANK YOU, Melinda!!!
- We will schedule sibling conferences on Monday, October 7th in the media center at 2:45. Please come to this meeting with an empty schedule (besides your conferences that require translators).
- Out of courtesy to your colleagues, please do not schedule a sibling conference outside of our “sibling zone” (Wed 3:30-7:30, Thur 11:30-7:30) without talking with the siblings’ teachers first.
10/1 Staff Meeting Agenda: Below is the staff meeting agenda for your planning. We have a lot to cover, so please be on time… we will start at 2:45 sharp. Classroom teachers will complete SLGGs in this meeting. Specialists… here is the form you need to complete your SLGGs. Please have completed by the end of conferences.

Safety Reminders: With the start of a new school calendar year comes an opportunity to refresh our knowledge of safety resources and protocols. I will add a few new items each week for a few weeks. Please take a moment to:
- Check the renewal date for your CPR/First Aid recertification
- Lay your eyes on the AED (automated external defibrillators) in our building (in the gym by C/D doors)
- Check your first aid fanny pack for restocking needs (inventory list is inside front zipper pocket)
