Thanks to Steph for sending birthday love to a new EME student… it’s obvious that he appreciated it!

This and That:

Link From Coaches: Follow this link to the Friday update from our coaches. If you already read it on Friday, you are up to date. A couple items of note:

  • Dreambox will officially be available throughout the summer and next year for grades k-5!!
  • At the moment, Lexia is available through the end of July, but is still being negotiated for the whole summer and next school year.  Stay tuned for a decision.

Summer iPad Communication: This linked letter from Skip Offenhauser will be sent to parents in grades 3-5 this week explaining that iPads will not be collected at the end of the year. More details soon regarding drop off plans for families that do not wish to keep their iPad over the summer or families that are moving out of the BLP district.

Last Day of School Messaging:  I appreciate your efforts to communicate to parents that the last day of school is still June 11. Once again, please focus your energy on the theme of what we WILL be doing (parent/teacher conversations, report cards, helping finish incomplete work, pointing families to summer supplementary activities, answering emails, etc.) rather than what we won’t be doing. I apologize for the confusion around this message and once again, thank you for your efforts to clarify for families that school isn’t over on June 5.

End of the Year Checkout: Here is a link to the same document that is in your box. You can start collecting signatures at any time. Once all signatures are collected, please ensure your name is on it and leave it with Sue so we know who is officially checked out for the summer.

Student Engagement Data: Overall, participation held steady the week of 5/11-5/15! Great job, everyone. Let’s continue to do everything we can to keep kids connected as long as possible.

Art Resources from Karen: Here is another video lesson from Karen about drawing an apple in the style of cubism.g

CDC Guidelines: For those who are interested, the CDC published their guidelines for reopening last week. School guidance starts on p. 45. We probably won’t have any direction from our state until at least mid June. Once they have provided districts with some guidance, BLP will use that to begin planning for different scenarios.

To Do:

Evaluation: If you have a formal observation this year:

  • Classified staff- complete your self evaluation and questions, send them back to Frank, and arrange a time to meet with him.
  • Certified staff- complete your self evaluation, then arrange a time to meet with Kelle.

Blooper Reel: Please send some of your video making bloopers to Jessica for a fun end-of-the-year blooper reel.

Important Dates:

  • Wednesday, May 27: Webex staff meeting at 1:00
  • Thursday, May 28: K&2 Packet distribution
  • June 8-12: Parent teacher conversations
