This and That:
Link From Coaches: Follow this link to the Friday update from our coaches. If you already read it on Friday, you are up to date. A couple items of note:
- The summer choice boards website is ready (as well as a .pdf version) – please be sure to share this resource with families as appropriate during your conferences next week.
- Lexia and Dreambox will both be available over the summer. There are also links you can follow for your own professional learning about using these platforms.
- Power Up (middle school reading program) will no longer be available for K-5 students after June 30th. Please encourage use of Sora or the Deschutes Public Library.
- Lots of optional distance learning courses (many of them for OSU Cascades credit!!) will be available for staff this summer – you can start signing up this week.
Student Engagement Data: The final participating numbers are below. I am beyond proud of the heroic efforts you all put forth to encourage our students to participate week after week.

Wednesday Staff Meeting: Our staff meeting this week will be an opportunity to gather one last time IN PERSON as a staff before we head out to summer. We will meet on the C/D playground at 1:00 for about an hour (spaced out by 6 feet). No big agenda… mostly just time to connect with staff and pick up a couple of gifts: Amy Michalski made masks for ALL staff members so you can choose your mask and PTO put together a nice gift for each staff member as well. Bring your own chair/ blanket and drink. Due to safety, we won’t be providing food or drinks. No worries if you do not feel safe attending a gathering… just let me know.
Email this summer: It would be a good summer to practice checking your email at least one time per week for any updates pertaining to next year. I expect we will be learning more and more information about next year throughout the summer and I will do my best to keep you up to date via email.
To Do:
Evaluation: I am down to five more evaluations to complete (not including meetings). If you haven’t heard from me yet, you will this week.
Goodbye Video: Please be sure to share our waving goodbye video with your families this coming Thursday, June 11th sometime before noon.
Staff Survey: If you haven’t already, please take a few minutes to complete the survey I sent out earlier in the week regarding your thinking about your plans for next year.
Informal Survey: During your conversations this week, please take some time to ask each of your families what worked for their child during distance learning, what didn’t work, and any suggestions they have for us as we continue to learn and grow from these past few months.
Check-out List: Be sure to collect initials on your checkout list from the appropriate staff member this week and give your completed form Sue to be considered “officially” checked out for the summer.
