This and That:
Metrics: I’m sure you all heard that Kate Brown announced new metrics on Friday for getting students back in buildings. Even with these new, less restrictive metrics, I am doubtful that we will meet the metrics when the new weekly data is released on Monday (I don’t have any inside information; I am just doing my own math.) With that said, please be careful when communicating with students and parents about returning to school. Please let the parents do the bulk of the communication about this so that we are careful about not getting the students’ hopes up too much.
Bend Broadband Overage Charges: Are you getting charged overages on your home internet? Bend Broadband’s parent company, TDS is willing to credit back any overage charges for BLP teachers as long as they email TDS from their school email address. Any teacher that’s been impacted should send an email to [email protected], from their school email address with their name and account number, requesting credit for their “data usage allowance overage charge.
WebEx Muting Issues (From Amy Tarnow): A recent WebEx update is causing issues for elementary teachers because they can no longer just unmute students to ask them to share, and students have to allow themselves to be unmuted. Of course, secondary teachers are stoked because they can lock students in mute. Here is a link to a blog post about this topic.
