12/18 & 1/8 SIW Plans: The next two SIWs will be individual time!
SIW Start Time Check-In: Thank you for the feedback!! We had 15 staff members respond to the survey. 100% of those staff said our current time of 1:15-2:45 is working just fine.
LockOUT Drill: I am noticing some confusion between lockDOWN and lockOUT drills. Our drill this week will be a lockOUT.
During a lockOUT drill, the threat is OUTside of the building and there is no imminent threat, so we take the precautionary measures of getting everyone inside, locking the exterior doors only, and continue with business-as-usual. You do not need to worry about blinds. If the threat was close enough to look in a window, we would be in a lockDOWN.
During a lockDOWN, a safety threat is in our building or very nearby. In this case, we get our students inside a locked area, quiet and hidden as quickly as possible. Again, do not worry about blinds… this takes too much time. Just locate the places in your classroom that you can hide from view.
Printshop Budget: I upped the printing budget this year to $22,000 (out of $61,000 that we get for ALL needs for the WHOLE YEAR). This is the most I have ever budgeted for printshop (and it was based on the usage from the previous past two years). We have already gone through $16,000 of this budget item. Please do NOT print any more packets or color items without my approval. Additionally, when appropriate, please look for ways to provide materials for students in non-hardcopy ways. Thanks for your help with this.
