This and That:
1/15 SIW Plan: Our next SIW will be focused on report card calibration. We will start as a whole staff and break into teams to continue calibration work.
Excellence and Equity Review: After conducting dozens of listening sessions and surveys with Bend – La Pine staff, students, parents, and community at large, a website has been created housing a variety of summaries. I recommend you take a look as it has lot of great information. Overall, people feel really good about BLP schools and we can feel proud of the work we are doing on a daily basis. If you don’t read anything else, take a look at the Listening Session- Students and Families. I can say with confidence that none of us would want some of that said about our school. Although Elk Meadow families report feeling welcome at our school year-after-year on our spring family survey, knowing how some folks are feeling around the district certainly gives us an opportunity to better understand diverse needs and take steps to ensure that our families feel welcome in our school. Title VI : If there are any incidents at Elk Meadow related to race, ethnicity, national origin, or native language, please be sure to contact Frank or Kelle as soon as possible. We are responsible for contacting the district Title VI coordinator who collects information that helps our district understand the experiences of our students and families, track what is happening in our schools, and develop proactive system-wide responses.

Report Card Comments Translation: If you have families that will require translation to understand their child’s report card, please aim to get these sent to translation as soon as possible. Hopefully, this will help you to avoid long waits as we get closer to report card day and many teachers across the region will be accessing translators as well.
