Thanks for all of your great work to get ready for students on Monday. Please join me in my webex room for some quick updates at 9 am on Monday to make sure people have what they need and to hear from ICCL. Below is important information and the News from the Nest is full as well. Please read both if possible.

New Schedule: Wednesdays are added here now. We have other updates related to the MOU to share on Monday as well.

Orientation Tools: Use the attached link to find the slides and schedule for Orientation. Remember to show your PCMS pride all this week. Gold and Black is the name of the game!

First Semester Grading is Open in Synergy: Following is important information you’ll need to enter your grades for 1st semester.

  • ALL grades are due by Friday February 5th at 4:00pm. Please email me or stop by my office when you’ve posted your grades so I can let you know if any are missing. This is more important than other years due to the fact that any students switching between BLPO and CDL and Hybrid will no longer appear after Friday.
  • Although you are using Canvas grade books, you’ll still need to post grades in Synergy so I can run necessary reports and processes for student transcripts etc. Please remember to run the passback process from Canvas to push assignments and grades to Synergy. I’ve attached a few guides for you regarding grading in Synergy.
  • Advisory Teachers, please refer to page 3 of the “TVUE Secondary Report Card” document. This will explain how to enter Pass/No Pass grades for your Advisory class.
  • While this is not ideal… grade changes/corrections can be made by me after the grading window has closed. If you need to make a grade change/correction, please email me that request using this exact format: “Please change (student’s name) grade in (course title) from a (incorrect grade) to a (correct grade)“.
  • Here is a list of report card comments (English & Spanish) if you’d like to give more details regarding your students’ grades. Please be sure to use the Spanish option for your Spanish speaking families.
  • Gradebook sync for Sem. 3 and Quarter 3 will be run by IT on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd. This will create shells in Canvas for the upcoming semester 2 grading period and term.

KN95 Mask Distribution to Staff: Bend-La Pine has received a supply of KN95 masks that are available to issue to staff immediately. We will issue a total of five masks, one for each day of the week, to each staff member who requests one. Each mask can be used for up to five times as detailed in these guidelines. (also attached is the correct manner these masks should be donned and doffed). We do NOT have an unlimited supply of KN95 masks and do not know if or when we will be getting more. Therefore, issuing these masks for the remainder of the year is unknown at this time. If you wish to receive KN95 masks, please complete this Google Form and masks and paper bags for storage will be placed in your mailbox. KN95 masks may not be comfortable to wear for everyone. If for some reason, after a day or two, you realize the KN95 is not your preferred mask, please return unopened masks to Tami. Reminder, those who have not received a face shield but would like one can email Tami to arrange that.

Masking Update: We are no longer allowing gaiters, buffs and bandanas as substitutes for cloth/disposable masks that fit snugly around the mouth and nose. Buffs/gaiters placed OVER a mask that adheres to our requirements are permissible.  Masks with valves or otherwise vent air are never acceptable.
