Principal’s Hello

Hello, Golden Eagle families!

We finished another strong week here at Pacific Crest Middle School. We celebrated our singers and musicians at our winter concert, opened our Gold Mine store for the second time, completed a successful fundraiser, hosted an exchange student from Japan, and watched exciting World Cup action on the big screen during lunch.

This is a fun, dynamic place to be every day. I hope your student feels the same!

Warmly,

Sean

A Message from Anne Westerhoff, PCCO President: Staff Lunch

Staff lunches have been a tradition for families to show their appreciation to our staff and a way for staff to enjoy a delicious meal together. They appreciate it greatly! 🙂 Our holiday staff luncheon is on Friday, December 16th. We are looking for a variety of items to be donated and a few helpers. Please click this sign-up link to see if there is something you wish to provide. Your help and generosity is truly appreciated. 2022/23 Yearbooks Purchase Update

As mentioned a few weeks ago, this year one of our goals is to rekindle the middle school experience. This year, we want every student to have a yearbook placed in their hand at the end of the school year. We hope you would consider helping us do that.

We will be sending out a dedicated email this Monday, December 12 with further instructions on how you can 1) purchase a yearbook for your student; 2) purchase a yearbook for another student; 3) get listed on our Golden Eagle page in the yearbook; and 4) for 8th grade families only, how to purchase a customizable celebration square for your 8th grade student as they move onto high school.

7th Grade Showcase Event

Our 7th grade communities recently completed a unit on Building a Better Future in their Literacy classes. Students identified a local problem (at school or in town), gathered research then created a design to address the problem (example: how to improve roads for biking in Bend). The students will be showcasing their projects on Thursday, 12/15 from 5:30-6:30 in the 7th grade classrooms. Students and families are invited to join us for this fun event.

ODE State Assessment & Opt Out Form

Consistent with the requirements of ORS 329.479, ODE has developed an annual notice (available through ODE’s Test Administration webpage) that describes state assessments, identifies the timeframe when the assessment will most likely be administered, and identifies an adult student’s or parent’s right to excuse the student from testing. Please follow the link to see this form.
