Principal’s Hello

Dear Golden Eagle families,

I hope you’ve had a great week and are enjoying the longer weekend with your middle schooler.

Thank you so, so much to all those who contributed to our Fill the Nest fundraiser. We raised $8,000 last week! You all are amazing!

Remember that our Fill the Nest campaign is the only fundraiser we do all year. We don’t like to bug you about money, so we do this one time, at the start of the year, to help out our teachers. (See below for more info.)

We’re psyching up for Spirit Week! And swing by for a cup of coffee with me on Friday. I’ll be in the cafeteria from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM to talk about our start to the year and to hear your questions and ideas.

Have an awesome weekend, everyone!

Sean

A Message from PCCO: Fill Our Nest Update

As you can see from the image below we are halfway to our goal of $20,000. This one-time annual fundraising campaign will support a multitude of enriching activities, events, programs and grants for our students and staff. None of these programs would be possible without the support of this fantastic community. Please consider making a one-time, tax-deductible, financial gift (tax ID# 47-4312566) to the PCCO “Fill Our Nest” Giving Campaign.

We could certainly use everyone’s help to reach our goal. No matter the amount you are able to contribute, it helps. To make a personal or business donation, please complete the Donation & Sponsorship Form and return it to the front office. Donations can also be made online via PayPal or by following one of the QR codes below to PayPal or Venmo. Please feel free to contact us with questions at pacifi[email protected].

Thank you for supporting Pacific Crest Golden Eagles!

Adult Learning Opportunity: Introduction to Executive Function

Does your student struggle with time management, planning, self-monitoring and organization? Your are not alone. This presentation and conversation is if you. We encourage parents and guardians to join Carrie Bonnett, Executive Function Coach, on Monday, November 6 from 5:30 – 7:00pm at Pacific Crest Middle School for presentation and discussion. Get the Brain on Board flyer.

Emergency Alerts

If you have not done so, we highly recommend that parents, guardians and students alike sign up for to receive BL Connect text messages which will alert subscribers regarding evacuation, lockdown, emergency or weather-related event that calls for cancellation of a school day or changes to school day start or end times.

What are Delays, Early Release or Closures?

  • School Closure: Schools are closed for the day due to weather or emergency. In this scenario, the school building will not be used. Unless otherwise noted, all evening meetings and activities are cancelled.
  • Delayed Start: School will have a delayed start. Most often, this is a two-hour delay. In this scenario, buses will run two hours later than normal schedule and will drive slowly, adjusting to conditions and may be delayed.
  • Early Release: Students who ride the bus can be released early in order to give the buses extra time to complete routes.
  • Early Closure: Schools may be closed early due to weather or emergency. In this scenario, the school building will not be used. Unless otherwise noted, all evening meetings and activities are cancelled, including KidsInc.

Always refer to the BLS Website for the most up-to-date information regarding the above.

Athletic Updates

This past Wednesday, at Mountain View High School, PCMS played Sky View in the first round of the playoffs. PCMS took the opening play for a touchdown, and followed it up on their next possession, again scoring on the first play. Leading 34-0 at the half, PCMS scored again in the 3rd quarter to make it 42-0. The final score was 42-8 in favor of the Golden Eagles.  Next week, Pacific Crest will face Cascade for the league championship.

This last week of 7th grade volleyball was exciting. Our season ended with solid competition from La Pine. Our B team lost a close match, but our A team prevailed. Overall, we combined from 34 aces — with two players having five or more aces — 17 digs and 21 kills. It will be exciting to see them grow in the off season as many of them will be participating in club. And a big shout out to parents and families for participating and helping with our end of season party.
