Principal’s Hello
Hello Golden Eagle Families!
We had another awesome week in The Nest. Last night we hosted hundreds of students and family members for 5th Grade Family Night, we brought back our 8th Grade Science Fair, and we opened our Gold Mine Student Store 3 times while also hosting student-led pizza parties every day this week.
We want to run hard through the finish line, continuing our routines until the final bell on the final day. Please set this same expectation at home so our students finish strong. Our lives are easier when we paddle together. This is a mantra with our staff.
Enjoy your weekends with family and friends!
Sean

8th Grade Science Fair
This past Wednesday evening the eighth-grade students concluded their science and engineering project unit with a science fair to display their learning. Here is what one person had to say:
“The students’ projects were so impressive! Making a battery out of lemons, how color affects taste, what’s the best amount of baking powder to use for fluffy cookies, how to get the best stretch in slime, and even “Are 8th graders smarter than teachers” (the data showed YES 😉) were just a few of the topics covered.
The event was well attended, and students were excited to show their posters to their families and parents/guardians were so proud of their kids. You could tell that this 4-week project really sparked and showcased the students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for science.”
Ms. Crabtree and Mr. Segesta thank all parents and families for supporting this endeavor.
