Principal’s Hello

Dear Golden Eagle Families,

Today Ms. Wallace hosted part two of the 7th grade ultimate frisbee championship. We also continued our Halloween door decorating contest. Next week is Fall Spirit Week! Get into it!

I’m proud of our athletes. Check out the highlights below. I send a huge shoutout to the cross country runners–so many of them–who posted personal records at our district meet yesterday. PCMS took home four 1st place team awards and two 2nd place team awards!

Fall Conference Sign-ups

Please sign up for an available time to connect with one of your student’s teachers. Conferences are not mandatory but can be helpful if your student is struggling in a particular class.

Counseling Information Session | Tuesday 10/29 at 6:00 PM

During our conferences, our school counselors, Abigail Clark and Sarah Girard, will be hosting a presentation to inform families about the school counseling program here at Pacific Crest. This presentation is geared towards families that are not familiar with our counseling program. The presentation will be on Tuesday, October 29th in the library at 6:00pm. It should last about 20 minutes with time for questions after.

Device Safety Settings – Drop-in Support | Wednesday, 10/30 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM

Wondering about the safety settings on your devices? KIDS Center’s prevention department will be offering hands-on assistance and a tech walk through to make sure your safety settings are appropriately set on your device. Learn how and where these settings are located so you can best support and protect your child. Drop by the Nest during Conferences on Wednesday, 10/30, 5:00 – 6:00 PM.

Photo Make-up & Retake Day

Photo Makeup/Retake Day is on Tuesday, 11/5. This day is for students who were not present on Thursday, 9/26 and for students who need, not want, to have their photos retaken. If you have purchased a photo packet and you want your student to have their photo retaken, please return the photo packet to the main office by 10:00 AM on Tuesday, 11/5.

REMINDER: Spirit Dress Up Week

Golden Eagle Athletics

Thursday, Cross Country had their district meet and end the season with a bang. Our 7th grade girls and boys and 8th grade girls and boys both finished in first place. Our 6th grade girls and boys both finished second. Way to go Golden Eagles!

On Wednesday evening, the 7th grade Football team hosted SkyView. The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 6-0 lead after a touchdown on the first play of the game. The lead was extended to 20-0 later in the first quarter. The final score was 34-12, pushing PCMS to 2-1 on the season. The final game of the regular season is at High Desert next Wednesday at 5pm.

All three 7th grade Volleyball teams swept Sky View on Monday, and B and C played outstanding volleyball against Cascade yesterday but lost in 3. A team beat Cascade which had previously been our only loss.

With one week left of the season, our 8th grade Volleyball teams are continuing to work hard and play hard. Some wins and some loses takes us into our competitive home game against Cascade next Monday. We hope to see you there cheering our players on!

As we wrap up another successful fall sports season, our eyes turn towards the winter and Wrestling. We are looking for a new coach who can lead our team in skill development, work ethic, and sportsmanship as well as cultivate a positive team culture. Does this sound like you? Do you know someone who would be a good fit? If so, please apply online at the Bend-La Pine district website.
