Principal’s Hello

Dear Golden Eagle Families,

I hope you all had a great spring break! I enjoyed the time away but am happy to be back with our staff and students. You know you have a good thing going when you’re glad to return.

Our kids came back from break following our expectations. They picked up right where we left off. Of course I’m not surprised. Our kids are amazing, and our teachers hold high and consistent expectations for their behavior and learning.

As we move ahead toward conferences, consider visiting a teacher if your student is earning below a B in a class. We want to clarify any confusion and support your student as much as possible.

Also, if your student is telling you something about a class, and it just doesn’t sound right, I encourage you to email the teacher! There’s usually more to the story. Having more info can also help you support your student at home.

Enjoy this beautiful weather with your family!

Sean

Spring Conferences

Welcome to Spring Conferences! You are invited to our Open House Style Conferences on Wednesday, April 16, from 4:00-5:00 and 5:45-8:00. In each classroom, your student will share what they are working on and you will have the opportunity to speak with your student’s teacher. Privacy is not guaranteed and attendance is not required.

On Thursday, April 17, we offer scheduled conferences to support students struggling in a particular class.  Please sign up for an available time to connect with your student’s teacher [HERE].  We kindly request that conferences start and stop on time in order to best serve all PCMS families.

We look forward to seeing you!

7th and 8th Grade Forecasting

We are excited to begin 7th and 8th grade forecasting for next year!  Students will be selecting electives with their counselor via their iPad, but we encourage parent involvement. When you have a moment, please review the information below with your student to prepare them for forecasting with their counselor.  The following forms are for reference only; please do not fill the forms out.

A Message from PCCO | Staff Dinner Sign-ups

It’s hard to believe that the April Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner. We always treat the PC staff to a home cooked meal during this hectic week. The BBQ themed dinner will be served on Wednesday, April 16th at 5:00 PM. Please drop off all non-perishable items by the end of the school day on Tuesday, 4/15 and all salads, meats and beans by 2:15 PM on Wednesday, 4/16.  Sign-up here. Thanks again for all your support throughout the year to make these staff meals so successful!

Volunteer Opportunities

The spring dance is on Friday, 4/11 and we thank those of you who have signed up to help, but we are still in need of just a few more donations and volunteers to help before, during and after the dance. Please consider signing up as soon as possible. Thank you!

Important Information: Lockdown Drill

On Thursday, April 10 we will be running our spring lockdown drill at PCMS. All the drills we preform are not only required by Oregon law, but they prepare staff, students and our community on how to respond in the event of an emergency. We take these drills seriously, and we expect our students to take them seriously as well. There is no opt-out option for this drill. 100% of our students and staff will be participating.

The week before, students and staff will receive refresher lessons on protocols regarding a lockdown by watching a Standard Response Protocol video in Advisory. During our drill, Bend Police Department will be on site to support our efforts.

You can find more information about Standard Response Protocol (SRP) in the following guides.
