Principal’s Hello

Dear Golden Eagle Families,

It’s full bloom springtime here at PCMS! Our kids and adult helpers are gearing up for the Spring Tropical dance as we speak! Today we also had some crazy hockey action during Advisory.

Next week we have two support days in Advisory for students to make up missed work or retake tests. Homework for you, parents: Sit down with your student this weekend, and have them pull up their “To Do” list in Canvas. Make a plan with them to turn in this work!

Lately we’ve employed some 8th graders to help in our special needs classroom, which has been so rewarding. You all are raising some great kids. I’m honored to be a part of their journey!

Spring Conferences

Welcome to Spring Conferences! You are invited to our Open House Style Conferences on Wednesday, April 16, from 4:00-5:00 and 5:45-8:00. In each classroom, your student will share what they are working on and you will have the opportunity to speak with your student’s teacher. Privacy is not guaranteed and attendance is not required.

On Thursday, April 17, we offer scheduled conferences to support students struggling in a particular class.  Please sign up for an available time to connect with your student’s teacher [HERE].  We kindly request that conferences start and stop on time in order to best serve all PCMS families.

7th and 8th Grade Forecasting

We are excited to begin 7th and 8th grade forecasting for next year!  Students will be selecting electives with their counselor via their iPad, but we encourage parent involvement. When you have a moment, please review the information below with your student to prepare them for forecasting with their counselor.  The following forms are for reference only; please do not fill the forms out. 

Chapter 5 | April Wayfinder Newsletter

Coming up in Wayfinder, students will start the following chapters: 

  • 6th grade: Power + Practice:  Explore how to use our voices to express what matters to us, and embrace mistakes as learning opportunities.
  • 7th grade:  Pressures + Challenges:  Explore the pressure we experience and useful ways to respond to them, and celebrate and share gratitude for our growth.
  • 8th grade:  Curiosity + Place:  Build awareness of our connection to spaces and practice curiosity to explore the world around us.

To review these Wayfinder lessons, visit our front office and request to review the Wayfinder workbook for your student’s grade.  

Próximamente en Wayfinder, los(las) estudiantes comenzarán los siguientes capítulos: 

  • 6º grado:  Poder + Práctica:  Explorar cómo usar nuestras voces para expresar lo que nos importa y aceptar los errores como oportunidades de aprendizaje.
