November Updates – America Recycles Day and the Energy Challenge

November 15th is National recycling day and the Energy Challenge starts November 6- January 19th


America Recycles Day November 15th

Get ready to put on your recycling superhero cape because November 15th isn’t just any day – it’s America Recycles Day! This nationwide celebration is all about showing some love to our planet by making recycling a part of our daily routine. From knowing what you’re throwing away to where it goes, ARD teaches us to be mindful of our consumption habits and how to recycle like a boss. Take the pledge to join the recycling revolution and make every day a recycling day!

Trex Recycling starts on November 15th. Sign up here if you are interested in recyling plastic film. I have 5 scales to assist in weighing.

Recycling Signage. Drumroll, please, as we unveil the new recycling signs customized specially for schools. But don’t worry, you can still recycle your waste with the old ones. However, if you want the look, and I’ll happily print them from my budget! Many of you filled out the sustainability advisor needs form and I will start to work from there. If you are a dual immersion school, I would love to have the new ones printed. You can check them out here. We added more items and clarity.

KAHOOT – What can you recycle? If you want to teach your green teams or staff about what can and cannot be recycled, here is a KAHOOT that based on Metros Recycle or Not.

Energy Challenge 2023 – 2024

From November 6 – February 2, your school and green team can participate in the 23-24 recyling challenge. The prizes are 1st – $500, 2nd – $250, 3rd $100.
