Well with only a few months left of school, we are still finalizing 504s and creating new plans as well. Please keep sending them in for review!
I have had a few questions about how to add students to the world of 504’s so here is a quick how-to
Please remember we need all students finalized by the end of May.
If you have a student with a 504 is moving to an IEP. Do you need to do anything?
– All you need to do is notify Magadalyn that the student is moving to an IEP.
Do note – the student will NOT be exited from 504 in Synergy until the IEP icon is up.
Why? Should the need for disciplinary action arise, all school staff will continue to see the 504 icon and know that the student has an impairment/accommodations.

I mentioned at our 504 training last month that a small workgroup has been meeting with our medical professionals in the community. The document that we created is now live! The hope is that it will be included in the paperwork they send home with families, attached to patient portals, and used as general guidance when speaking with families following a medical diagnosis. Remember that whether you are holding a 504 3 yr or Initial meeting in person, by phone or by computer; it is now your responsibility to get the Notice to Conduct a 504 Evaluation form signed by the parent.
At the meeting if in person,
Asking parent to come in and sign if virtual – or sending home to have them sign – or…
Asking for an Adobe Sign invite to go out for an electronic signature is your last ditch request saved for those families who are not signing after many attempts.
