Hatching Results Opportunity
Hatching Results has a few virtual learning opportunities coming up. Check with your site administrator to see if there are any funds for you to attend. Here is the link. There is one on The Use of Data in School Counseling and another for building a collaborative administrator / counselor partnership. Both look like great opportunities for counseling teams!

Choice School Options for MS
Communication from Alandra: “The new year means it’s time for our eighth graders to start planning for high school. As part of that, we want all students to know about their options. In addition to our great comprehensive high schools, we also have two great small choice option high schools. Upcoming information nights are coming fast. … and the deadline to apply is Jan. 20, which is why we want to make sure families and students know about these options.
Today, each of your schools should receive a brochure with information about the choice option high schools (English and Spanish copies). Additionally, we have short videos to share with students:
Realms: English and Spanish subtitles
BTA: English and Spanish subtitles
Here is a link to a folder with the videos.
Here is a suggested script that staff can read to students to talk about these options.”
The Drop
From Aimee Snyder:
Please see the attached handout with January updates for The Drop, a peer support group/drop-in center for ages 14-27 provided by Deschutes County Behavioral Health. Located at: 1340 NW Wall Street, Bend.
I checked with The Drop to confirm that Oregon Health Plan’s non-emergency medical transport can be used to help students/families get transportation to this service, if they are OHP members. This is PacificSource’s (our region’s OHP operator) “Get a Ride” webpage with instructions for how to use the transportation benefit.
Teresa Del Prete (see contact info below) would be a good person to contact for questions about The Drop or how to get OHP’s transportation benefits to attend.
Just a reminder that the Drop will be closed this next Monday, 12/26 and the following Monday, 1/3. I am attaching this and next months calendars! Feel free to reach out with any questions!
The Drop is a safe and supportive space for youth and young adults to connect with each other and with community resources.
The Drop is open every Monday and Wednesday from 2- 5:30pm and Friday from 1 – 4:30pm.
The Drop is open to Deschutes County residents ages 14-27*. They can come in any time while we are open. Masks are still required.
*Please note the age limit has changed from 29 to 27.
Please forward this email to any youth/young adult that you believe could benefit from social interaction with their peers, along with receiving healthy social and occupational modeling through Peer Support with Teresa Del Prete.
