Educator Network Day Recap

Thank you so much to all of you who attended the END on Wednesday. We know there was a lot of information, but loved that each of you recognized the importance of really looking at our school counseling programs, data tracking and use of time to potentially elevate awareness of the great work happening in our roles. We do this all in hopes of reversing the cycle of reactivity that many of you are experiencing. Reminder:

We CAN maximize the comprehensive school counseling program’s impact on students!

We CAN create daily/weekly schedules that help us promote equity!

We CAN interrupt systems that keep school counselors in a cycle of reactivity!

We CAN make a BIGGER difference in the lives of our students!

To solve use of time challenges, a systems approach is our best bet. We must understand the recommendations for school counselor time and what it looks like in practice. We, along with shareholders, must come to agreements of the roles and responsibilities of school counselors and we must establish effective and automated systems. One counselor cannot reach all students and serve them effectively, but great systems can. To begin digging into this week, we will work on systems to help us gather meaningful data.

These are our next steps for the remainder for the year!

Here is the SlideDeck from Wednesday

Here are the Agreements for Data Input for Student Conference and Use of Time.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

BLS Aligned Practices for HS credits taken prior to 9th grade

Middle and High School Counselors: Please review this internal document that outlines best practices for high school credits that are taken while in middle school. We need to all be aligned with our practices and messaging to students and families.

We have also updated the HS Credit Request form. Once Andrea Wilson gets it translated and approved, we will load onto portal/websites. Here is a copy of the form for your reference. Continue to use previous form until this one is loaded into our portal…I will keep you updated!
