DreamBox – There is a new and exciting feature, Lesson Highlights, we have access to from the Teacher Dashboard.  You can learn more about it here. Please reach out to Kerry Morton or your instructional coach if you want to explore together.

ODE Math Guidance Document: There is a standards guidance document for the new k-12 math standards. It has been posted on the ODE math standards page. At the moment you can only find it under the “FULL K-12 FILES” menu within the first according menu under “2021 Mathematics Standards and Guidance”.  The documents are hyperlink to navigate quickly to a grade or standard, so works best as a full document.

ODE Materials Review: Are you interested in being on the 2022 instructional materials review team for the state?  Individuals on this committee will be responsible for reviewing submitted Mathematics instructional materials to be adopted by the State Board of Education. Those selected to participate will receive professional development and an honorarium. No travel is required for this year’s evaluation. Please reach out to Kerry Morton before April 11th if you are interested.

Inclusive Practices Spotlight

What do INCLUSIVE PRACTICES look like in supports and intervention

  • There are supports utilized so that all students can be successful in all school settings.
  • Regulation needs are met within the general education environment to the maximum extent possible. -Supports and student plans are proactive, not reactive.
  • High expectations are held for all students.

Social Emotional & Mental Well-Being

Last week we highlighted Setting Harmony Goals in your classroom.

Personal Harmony Goals are a way that students can focus on one or more Class Harmony Goals that they want to achieve or improve on.

Meet-Up Questions of the Week

  • K – 2: What are some things that you can do to be a good friend?
  • 3 – 5: “A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.” -Unknown
  • How would someone close to you describe you?

Supporting English Learners

Did you know that you can switch the language for directions in Core5 (Lexia)?  If you have emergent bilinguals who would benefit from hearing the directions in Arabic, French, Haitian-Creole, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish or Vietnamese, please check out this screencast for directions. Many thanks to Dyan Sultzer for making the screencast!

You can switch the language in DreamBox as well, but only to Spanish at this time! Remember, DO NOT change the grade level for the student! It does not change their placement within DreamBox.
