School News Created Remotely

Flag Salute

I’ve realized how important it is for students and staff to continue to connect with each other in new ways since we’re no longer meeting in our schools and classrooms this year. It’s been great to see the creativity in how this is approached – through WebEx, Flipgrid, video creation, and more. The school news is also a place to connect in that students get to see what’s happening amongst their fellow classmates and teachers. Tracy Howk, at Juniper Elementary, has been working behind the scenes with teachers and students to create the news each week that can be shared with their school. They even continue to do the flag salute and the weather via WebEx! A few fun components are seeing the teachers with their pets along with some panoramic fails from their weekly Flipgrid Contest. That one has me curious! It’s also really encouraging to see pictures of students working hard in their own environments.

So much amazing learning is going on behind the scenes! I’m just happy to get a glimpse and share it with you. Here’s one of Juniper’s News Videos:
