Parks and Recreation Childcare at Elk Meadow: I will send out names of who was offered a spot so you can follow up during your parent conversations next week. Communication plan: you will communicate directly with parent. Parks and Rec will rely on Seesaw/ Google Classroom on student iPads.

Attendance for distance learning: Attendance includes both participation in class activities and interaction with a licensed or registered teacher during a school day or interactions with educational assistants and paraprofessionals through teacher designed and facilitated processes.
•Attendance in Synergy will begin on 9.21.
•On Friday 9/18, you will let us know (we will send a document to record this) which students were radio silent all week.
•Attendance for the prior day, must be accurate by 10 am of the following day
•Attendance must be taken at least once per day for all students enrolled in school, regardless of the instructional model
•Students will be automatically considered “present virtually” unless a teacher goes in and changes that. Nightly synergy will pre-populate all CDL/virtual students for the following day’s attendance to PV.
•When is a Student considered absent? When there is no evidence of student interaction during a 24-hour period surrounding a scheduled school day as described, students are reported as absent.
•How to record it? – attendance will be recorded by teachers using the following new Synergy codes during 2020-21: Present Virtually (PV) is considered a School Activity type and counts as attending school; Not Present Virtually (NPV) is considered Unexcused absence
Lexia and Dreambox: Synergy Sync-up, Hopefully ready for action by 9/14, Debbi will keep you up to date, All students will be taking Lexia placement test
Meal Service: Meal service will start September 14th it will be grab-and-go from 11:30a-12:45p breakfast and lunch, all kids 18 and under qualify for meals at no cost, and meals can be picked up from several BLP schools, regardless of the attendance area. Meal service for the general Elk Meadow community will be grab and go breakfast and lunch. Meal service for the Elk Meadow Parks and Recreation daycare will include breakfast, lunch, and supper
iPad Insurance: No inspections this year, available online, we might reset and inspect Gr. 4 & 5 iIPads once in the buildilng.
Committees This Year: District committees: safety, family engagement, culture of care, curriculum, Elk Meadow committee: art
Safety Committee/ Limited In-Person Instruction (LIPI): Over 100 checklist items we have to guarantee in order to have any students in the building.
Repeat of 9/9 and 9/10 Trainings:
Classroom Budgets: $100 left in each student body account. $250 in the general fund. I will let you know later in the year if PTO has enough funds to provide $100 to each classroom.
COVID/ Safety related information:
Sign-in and Sign-out w/ QR Code: (Frank): Starting on Monday. MUST complete upon entry and exit. Exit includes contact tracing.
• Using your personal device or school-issued iPad
• Allows you to enter information and have it archived digitally
• No need to touch common surfaces
• The QR codes are up in the lobby to try it out.
• Data collection will start on Monday.
