This is a pretty great crew!! Thank you to our social team for some happy hour connection time!

This and That:

SIW Agenda: SIW this week is “school discretion.” This will be “teacher prep time.” All of our classified staff will be participating in part two of the trauma-Informed practices training during the SIW time.

Art Workshops: As we continue to creep back to some normalcy at Elk Meadow, I am hoping that we can revive many of our Elk Meadow community-building activities. One of these is our art workshops. At the moment, we are not able to share students between grade levels, so we can’t run our art workshops the way we have in the past (my fingers are crossed for spring!) BUT… some grade levels are planning to do an art workshop model within their own grade level. Let me know ASAP if you are considering this at your grade level between Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks and I will see if we can add an adult or two to your grade level to reduce the size of your groups a little.

Lunch: At least until spring, please assume that lunch will be indoors. I will only make a lunch announcement if it happens to be warm and dry enough to be outside.

Office Visits: We have had an inordinate number of students sent to the office (usually during recess time). While many of these visits are needed, we need your help with limiting the visits. All head injuries and injuries that truly need to be assessed should come to the office. Most injuries can be handled with some sympathy and/ or a bandaid (please see Chris or Cindy if you need more bandaids for your fanny pack – we are happy to keep you stocked). We are also getting daily visits for changes of clothing due to getting wet at recess and we are out of clothing in several sizes. We cannot provide changes of clothing for students who are choosing to play on wet equipment and splash in puddles. We WILL provide a change of clothes for students that have bathroom accidents. Thanks for your help in limiting these visits.

Focus on Excellence and Equity:
