Hello Team!
Does anyone else love a stormy weekend? In my world it’s a pass to stay inside, sit by the fire, and binge watch shows or read books. Those who’ve known me for a bit might realize that the whole “stay inside” thing doesn’t come naturally…so when it happens it is awesome. The only thing I didn’t enjoy this weekend was finishing my show (Ted Lasso) and book (The Rose Code, by Kate Quinn). If you have other suggestions for the next stormy weekend please share them as a comment!
A few quick updates for the week:
North Star-based staff: This Wednesday is your work day. We will not be having any meetings. And on Friday, I expect that our area here at North Star will be very quiet, so come in then only if you need a calm place to work! We WILL be having a meeting for all NSE-based staff next week on Wednesday, November 3 at 1:00.
MAC Training: Kevin sent this out last week, but here it is again. If you have already completed this for the year you do not need to do it again.
Our Fall MAC Survey will be the week of November 15th. Please complete the training by Friday November 12th, 2021. You can stop and restart the training if you do not complete it all at one time. You may have activities that you perform as part of your job that are claimable for reimbursement on MAC Survey Day, and if not, just by being a part of our trained employee base, your salary and benefits contribute to our reimbursement dollars dedicated to the FAN program. It will take approximately 22 minutes to complete.
There is an optional MAC Training Video that can assist you with your MAC Training (search for Bend-La Pine, enter your email, and if it doesn’t have a record for you have it email you a link). You can minimize the MAC Training Video and listen to it in the background while clicking through your MAC Training slides. Alternatively, rumor has it Tanya already has the answers so you can try to work a deal with her if you want. 🙂
On the subject of training…remember to do your Vector Training! This is a new name for our Safe Schools Training. This year the training is due by October 31st, (not December 31 as it has been in the past!). Here’s a link to the portal: https://bend-or.safeschools.com/. You will need to login using your employee ID number, which is found on your paystub or in Employee Online. You should also have received emails about this so if you search for “Vector Training” in your Outlook a note should come up with your login information.
Finally, photos for our full time online students are taking place at North Star Elementary this Thursday from 9:00-1:00. Students have been emailed a link to sign up for a spot. Teachers and staff can also sign up for photos, if you’d like! Please reach out to Kevin if you have any questions about this.
