Hi Everyone,
It’s hard to believe we are finally here. I started looking at the calendar just now to see if there was a time we could all do a lunch together one last time at North Star, but with graduations, picnics, North Star events, crazy schedules and other going-away events there isn’t a time when I could commit to getting everyone together. So with that, let’s do breakfast treats at North Star on Wednesday the 15th for everyone that can make it. And for our OSSM team-I will get out to see each of you one more time before the end of the year. It will be good to connect.

NO OSSM meeting on Wednesday! Let’s meet for our last time of the year the following Wednesday, June 15th, in my WebEx room at 7:45 AM.
North Star Staff-No official meetings this Wednesday. I’ll look forward to connecting on site informally.
Bilingual Staff Survey: Do you speak a language other than English? Are you interested in utilizing those language skills to support occasional translation/interpretation needs in our schools? Let us know by completing this form.
BLSO Summer Program Information: OSSM’s should receive printed copies of our summer flyers via inter-district mail this week. Please let me know if you need more! I have the following staff listed as interested in mentoring this summer: Lisa S., Jill, Greg, Christina, & Rachelle(ELL). Michelle will be our summer program coordinator, she will be enrolling students in the Synergy summer term and their requested courses. Teri will be teaching PE and Health and Brad will be teaching Math. I will be on call to help if anyone is taking a vacation and needs coverage while they are gone. If I missed anyone who was planning to help please let me know. Summer program staff: Let’s meet in my webex room this Friday, June 10th at 7:45 AM to go over a few logistics and make sure we are all on the same page.

Registration for the BLSO summer program is now open! Online classes will open on June 27 and close on August 26th. Bend-La Pine Online staff will be available virtually to support students all summer long. Families can register through the “Summer Registration” link on our website, or by scanning the QR code found on our flyers. Here is the direct link as well: https://bls.fyi/blsosummersignup
We market our summer program only for our incoming 9th-11th graders and this year’s seniors who might need a few more credits to graduate. Middle schoolers can take summer courses but it is usually to finish something from the school year or accelerate in math…we don’t advertise that but if you know of families who would like to access that option please send them our way.

Tentative Schedule for return to school in August:
- Enrollment sheets for Fall 2022 will open on August 8th
- Chris/Amy in office as of August 8th
- Tanya/Michelle in office as of August 22nd (possibly the week before)
- 1st day for Certified Teachers is Tuesday, August 30th. This is a district training day (“Day 189”) unless you meet that requirement prior to this day.
- BLSO North-Star based staff “Welcome Back” meeting in the morning on Wednesday, August 31st
- OSSM ‘Welcome Back” meeting at North Star in the morning on Thursday, September 1st
- September 7th: First day of school for K-9
- September 8th: First day of school for 10, 11, 12
